Guillaume Tirel High School is classified by the official bulletin number 15, April 9, 2009 as Lycée des Métiers (comprehensive vocational high school for hotel services and catering). 

 The classification “Lycée des Métiers” allows the school to identify areas of expertise in professional training, certification or accompaniment, information, or technical business services.

 A Lycée des Métiers offers a complete range of national diplomas, from the CAP (basic vocational training) up to higher education: BTS (two-year college degree and the professional licence . Such a school encourages flexibility and a personalized course of study for its students, and facilitates the pursuit of postsecondary studies.  The school also assists its students in job placements and provides support after placement.  It develops partnerships with professional branches and businesses.  Additionally, it sets up projects aimed at improved preparation at the middle school level for both students and teachers.

 The school is open to a diverse population: high school students, adults in continuing education, trainees, and university-level students.

It has an international focus and encourages fluency in foreign languages, notably those present in Europe.
